Job Summary/Basic Function:
Within the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, provide leadership in Institutional Research, including data collection, analysis, and written and verbal presentation of data to various constituencies for use in planning, implementation, assessment, and decision making in support of college-wide and departmental initiatives. Responsible for compliance with state, federal, accrediting body, and other accountability mandates.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Design, conduct, and analyze institutional research projects.
2. Provide relevant, timely, and accurate institutional information to the President, executive team, and as appropriate, the campus community, the external community, and external agencies.
3. Lead the college-wide effort to advance a culture of evidence and inquiry by supporting the use of data in planning, implementation, assessment, and decision making in a collaborative environment across all departments.
4. Design and conduct training for faculty and staff on data collection and analysis, data visualization.
5. Serve as a source of expertise on research methodologies for the design and administration of college constituents' research projects, particularly with regard to student success.
6. Maintain responsibility for the integrity and analysis of information released by Institutional Research (IR) that shapes public understanding of the college.
7. Coordinate with other offices in maintaining and monitoring the coding system which the college uses to extract data for state and federal reporting.
8. Serve as an ex officio member of the Assessment Committee and Institutional Review Board for research involving human subjects.
9. Serve as a member on those committees that require data or accountability/performance measures (e.g. Achieving the Dream, Accreditation A-Team, Student Success & Retention, Title III, Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM), Social Justice and Diversity Assessment, Strategic Planning, Student Achievement, etc.).
10. Serve as a college representative to various state and regional research-related meetings, including the state Research & Planning Commission (RPC).
11. Manage and direct the external reporting such as Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) Gainful Employment data, national statistical surveys, questionnaires, and data exchanges. Oversee the regular administration of surveys (e.g. Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE), Campus Climate Survey) with select vendors.
12. Provide data and research support for program reviews, institutional and program accreditation, and other self-studies.
13. Prepare, publish, and present college data and statistics in a manner understandable to various audiences.
14. Regularly update various internal data publications (Insight, Quarterly Student Enrollment Profile, Annual Factbook, Environmental Scan, and others).
15. Provide access and transparency to reports and publications by effectively managing the Everett Community College (EvCC) Institutional Research pages on the EvCC external and internal websites.
16. Provide necessary data for grant proposals and reports.
17. Maintain a Datawarehouse database and support data conversion processes for EvCC's ctcLink/PeopleSoft implementation as part of the state-wide system conversion.
18. Supervise institutional research staff.
19. Design and maintain IR project/request queue; document and archive results.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
Masters Degree in Education, Social Science, Statistics, or related field
Experience with quantitative methodologies, particularly in the creation and interpretation of statistical data.
Experience with qualitative research methodologies.
Experience with statistics software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Access and Excel.
Relational skills and ability to lead and collaborate with others on team projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to translate complex data to lay audience.
Ability to establish priority timelines and consistently meet deadlines.
Commitment to or demonstrated experience providing an equitable, safe, and inclusive environment for all students, employees, and patrons.
Demonstrated qualities of perseverance or persistence

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred:
Five years of experience in organizational research and policy, program and instructional assessment, data analysis/interpretation, and presentation of results to various audiences.
Experience with accreditation standards and reporting.
Experience in visual analytic software.
Proficient in database management query automation.
Understanding of the role of data in organizational-, regional-, and/or state-level research and policy making.
Knowledge of the community college, its mission, and unique contemporary challenges.
