Job Description

The Student CARE and Conduct Coordinator ensures consistency in the application of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Rules of Conduct and Procedures, found in the Board of Regents Handbook, Title 2, Chapter 10, as well as the College's Academic Integrity Policy, Disruptive and Abusive Students, and other policies related to the expectations for student behavior on campus. This position is under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs and provides essential communication and organizational support related to student conduct and student concerns.The Student CARE and Conduct Coordinator reviews conduct files in Maxient initiated by the Chief Campus Officers (CCO). The CCO is overseen by the Campus Vice President under the multi-campus model. This position tracks sanctions and follow-up actions and prepares conduct reports, assists with the scheduling of Student Conduct Formal Hearings, arranges hearing officer training with the Office of General Counsel, assists in coordinating monthly assessment and evaluation processes, assists in developing learning outcomes and assessment programs for the Student Conduct process, and performs other duties as assigned. Additionally, the coordinator will work with the Student Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and other internal and external constituencies to provide oversight for the overall conduct process and program assessment. In addition, the Student CARE and Conduct Coordinator assists the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs in resolution of student complaints and concerns.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Counseling, Criminal Justice or related field and three years of experience in Higher Education Student Care and/or Student Conduct or equivalent education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in related field.
  • Experience working with a diverse higher education population.
  • Evidence of investigating and decision making skills
  • Experience working with a Student Behavioral Intervention Team
  • Experience working with, Academic Departments, Student Affairs Departments, Campus Police, and General Counsel
  • Computer skills are needed including: Windows; Word; Excel; PowerPoint, Maxient and PeopleSoft
  • Evidence of Understanding Confidentiality
