Job Description

The Department of Recruitment and College Connections works with all interested parties, particularly prospective and incoming students, seeking enrollment information and assistance with the onboarding process at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN). Services include but are not limited to; providing campus tours, informational workshops, and comprehensive enrollment services. The Department of Recruitment and College Connections seeks an exceptional individual to join our team as CTE/Recruiter Success Coach with the purpose of promoting CSN's visibility and attracting students into technical programs of study. The CTE Recruiter/Success Coach will have overall responsibility for the recruitment efforts of incoming high school and non-traditional students seeking Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at the College of Southern Nevada. The CTE Recruiter/Success Coach will educate students on industry needs and disseminate information about all CTE programs available at CSN, in addition to, providing direct outreach, service and college enrollment support. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, kindness, professionalism and teamwork. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with "feeder" high schools to explain CTE programs to prospective students.
  • Provide enrollment guidance for prospective and new students.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and agencies in career and technical education programs.
  • Coordinate campus visits, enrollment events, and track students through the college enrollment process.
  • Coordinate outreach to non-traditional students interesting in pursuing CTE programs.
  • Educate students on industry needs and disseminate information about the many CTE programs available at CSN.
  • Provide direct service and college enrollment support to a caseload of high school students interested in CTE programs.
  • Promote and help connect students to supplemental educational programs and opportunities (e.g. after-school programs, articulated college credit, dual credit and dual enrollment, etc.)
  • Serve as a liaison between CSN's CTE College Credit Program staff and other CTE stakeholders to support coordination of, and maximize student success.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One-year professional experience recruiting at a public or private, four-year college or community college setting AND One-year hands-on experience helping high school and non-traditional students learn critical aspects and opportunities of careers in the technical industry, including industry-recognized certifications, OR equivalent education and experience.

  • Ability to function efficiently and utilize good time management and problem solving skills in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with a variety of constituents.
  • Geographical knowledge of the greater Las Vegas community.
  • Knowledge of targeted recruitment programs.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and social networks use proficiency.
  • Possess excellent written, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Provide direct service and college enrollment support to a caseload of high school and non-traditional students.
  • Skilled using CRM systems (Campus Management preferred).
