Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor in the Curriculum and Instruction department. This anticipated opening is for the 2019-2020 academic year and is tenure track.

The candidate would be expected to: teach courses in the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, including education courses for electives for the School of Nursing Occupational Therapy Master's degree program and to teach education courses for the Curriculum and Instruction department.

The School of Education is dedicated to the preparation of educational professionals, including teachers, administrators, speech pathologists, counselors and reading specialists. Our programs combine sustained, in-depth clinical experiences with a rigorous curriculum that includes the latest and most powerful ideas from the field.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Doctoral degree, ABD candidates may be considered with degree completion expected by date of employment

Required Skills or Software:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Required Years of Experience:

Other Requirements:
Doctoral degree in Education or related field or ABD status with degree completion expected by date of employment.

A strong commitment to excellent teaching. Evidence of developing research and publication record.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strengths and experience in higher education pedagogy and curriculum design. Proficiency with quality research methods (quantitative and qualitative) and integration of technology in teaching. Flexibility and experience teaching higher education from the undergraduate though doctoral levels. Demonstrated effectiveness in the classroom, guidance of students, supervision and/or fieldwork with students, and collaboration with faculty. Demonstrated proficiency and experience implementing hybrid and online instructional methods. Accomplishments or clear agenda in research, publications, and professional service. An understanding of and commitment to the principals of social justice and educational equity.
