Job Description

Position Summary


Under direct supervision, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a back up for AAIIs and other subordinate or colleagues.
  • Utilize appointment site for proctored tests as well as administer/proctor placement and other tests or exams, as needed, in the Testing Center. Score any tests and record the scores appropriately.
  • Receive the Accuplacer Data Load Error Report and make corrections in PeopleSoft.
  • Act as a liaison for Work-Study Program, function as a liaison between Testing Center and Student Affairs Assessment Unit and other departments.
  • Answer phones, respond to e-mail inquiries, and provide excellent customer service (i.e.: face-to-face, web-based, other modalities)
  • Assist with training and supervising AA II and wage employees and process timecards for payroll purpose - use Workday or other software, as applicable. Guide AAIIs and other staff on customer support responses
  • Make copies and store all recording forms, records, audio or video recordings, and any other collected information, to secure them against accidental loss.
  • Enter numbers and other information into a computer or database. Code data into a form that allows for easy processing via a specific software program.
  • Work with such quantitative data as frequency, test scores, survey results, numbers, and percentages; and such qualitative data as historical antecedents, observed facial expressions or body language, ratings of satisfaction, met or unmet needs, easy to use, and level of importance. Translate qualitative into quantitative data, for example, rate of service satisfaction, level of importance, met or unmet needs counting the number of times a specific behavior was observed.
  • Process Forms: Invoices, inter-departmental, and Purchase Orders and purchase office supplies.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and service to our customers in all our interactions.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.


Within the multi-campus model, CSN has three campuses and various learning centers. The normal work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and this individual may be required to work weekends, subject to department needs.


Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Data collection, entry and organization experience.
  • Ability to prepare reports that summarize statistical information related to the assessment of activities within Student Affairs.
  • Experience with proctoring tests/exams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge on the applications of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
