Job Summary:
California State University, Fullerton is searching for an Administrative Support Assistant II. We are looking for a professional who possesses excellent customer service and communications skills to join our Department of Marketing in the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics.

Under the direction of the department chair and in collaboration with the Administrative Support Coordinator (ASC), the Administrative Support Assistant provides administrative support for the department. Prepares and reproduces coursework, examinations, course syllabi, correspondence, book orders, supplementary materials, and mass mailings. Processes grade changes. Prepares and processes travel request forms for department faculty and the department chair. Answers telephones, screens visitors, distributes mail, provides services for IT and email roll out accounts, and maintains files, including HR files. Collects faculty office hours information and posts them in the respective offices and online. Provides support for processing all requisitions and purchase orders, assisting the ASC as needed. Updates and maintains bulletin boards and the department's website. Distributes work to the department's website staff and assists in overseeing work done by graduate assistants. Responsible for picking up and distributing payroll during mid-month and month end. Provides administrative support for walk-in and appointment visits for students requiring academic advisement with the department chair. Provides clerical back-up support to the Administrative Support Coordinator. Attends training as requested. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:
High School diploma or the equivalent and three years of experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. General working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling with demonstrated competence in effectively presenting standard information in writing. Ability to learn, interpret independently, apply, and identify deviations from a variety of complex policies and procedures. Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and, at times, creative solutions. Ability to perform arithmetic functions of a transactional nature, including tracking and comparing data. Ability to work on the front line, with a variety of campus and community individuals requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills. Demonstrated competence in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas, and instructions. Basic typing and keyboarding skills.

Special Working Conditions:
Position will work in a variety of environments, including overhead spaces and confined spaces. Employee will carry a master key.
