Ideal Candidate Statement

Position
PLEASE NOTE
Ohlone College is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time teaching assignments. These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are ongoing recruitments. Assignments may include day, evening and weekend courses and may be in-person, online or blended courses.
As staffing needs arise, our Deans will review the pool and contact those applicants they are interested in interviewing. There are also times that adjunct faculty are needed to fill a last minute void as well. Therefore, departments are better able to communicate their most recent teaching needs at the time of interviews.

Applicants must meet the minimum academic require ments listed in order to be considered for the pool of qualified candidates. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements are not automatically accepted to teach at Ohlone. As this is for a pool of applicants, it may take time before you hear anything.

Teach part-time in the Chicano Studies Department.

Desirable Qualifications
Teaching experience at the community college level desired but not required.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties for this position include the standard instructional responsibilities for one or more classes in the Chicano Studies Department: teaching, grading, meeting with students (formal office hours are not required), class roster management and timely submission of grades. Some classes taught at the high school (dual enrollment).

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Chicano Studies OR Ethnic Studies OR the equivalent.

Starting Salary Range
Salary Range Hourly Lecture: $70.84-$105.72; Hourly Lab: $60.82-$84.87 DOE
