Primary Purpose of Organization Unit:


Primary Purpose of Position:
The position assists faculty and staff principal investigators with post-award administration of externally funded grants, contracts and other sponsored projects. The position also provides support to the Grants Accountant in the Controllers Office reviewing and reconciling departmental expenditures monthly. Provides a high-level of service that maintains strong working relationships by interacting with faculty and internal and external contacts, such as granting agencies by managing the internal award process and the management of sponsored funding.


Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
30% Oversees and manages budgetary and regulatory aspects of the sponsored activity portfolio.
20% Interfaces with Finance and Administration and the Budget Office as needed for budget tracking; meets with principal investigators initially and periodically to review award terms and conditions, grant expenditures and spending plans, and to resolve/troubleshoot concerns.
20% Updates OSRP database of awards as needed, including cost sharing commitments; maintains financial records; identifies and resolves operational issues; monitors compliance on external awards.
20% In coordination with the Grants Accountant tracks and timely establishes new award notifications in Banner Finance; prepares regular updates, quarterly reports/activities, and reports as requested by the OSRP Director, Controller, and other key stakeholders.
10% May perform other duties as assigned


Management Preference:
Higher education administration experience
Knowledge of programs and procedures for funding agencies, including federal and state entities
10+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment responsible for fiscal management of contracts and grants
Understanding and appreciation for partnerships with faculty, senior administrators and external research sponsor officials.
CRA certification
Experience with interfacing with a diverse clientele, including campus constituencies or comparable group
Experience in preparing budgets and maintaining financial records
