Custodial Foreperson

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for organizing and supervising teams of cleaning staff to ensure clean, safe, and well-supplied facilities for students, staff, and visitors.
Duties may include:
- Provide daily leadership to cleaning staff
- Coordinate cleaning schedules
- Train staff and evaluate performance
- Plan and execute major cleaning projects
- Perform custodial duties
- Document and report needed repairs and security and safety issues
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- None
- Three years performing custodial duties, including working with industrial cleaning chemicals and heavy-duty cleaning equipment
- One year supervising or providing direction to others in a work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience training custodial and/or maintenance staff
- Math, reading and analytical critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated positive attitude toward customer satisfaction and continuous quality service improvement
- Experience using computerized work order systems, email, calendar/scheduling, and word processing software
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Must be able to:
- Climb ladders, bend and stoop
- Lift, carry or otherwise move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Stand and walk continuously throughout the workday
- Work in inclement weather conditions
