Full Job Description:

The Master's in Asia Pacific Studies (MAPS) Program at the University of San Francisco is seeking an instructor for their fall 2022 gateway seminar for first-year graduate students, APS 601: Asia Pacific Histories and Modernities. This course focuses on the historical process of political and social modernization in East Asia and the Asia Pacific. Emphasis is on the evolution of traditional and modern societies and their transformation in the modern era. This semester-long class meets weekly on Monday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. PT beginning on August 29.

Preferred qualifications
  • Master's degree, PhD, or be enrolled in a doctoral program in History, Asian or Asia Pacific Studies, or a closely related field.
  • Relevant graduate teaching and/or undergraduate teaching experience is a plus.
