Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM; this is a temporary position to end on or before July 30, 2021 with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if program needs exist.

About the Position:
The Center for Internships and Community Engagement (CICE) creates cooperative linkages between higher education, community organizations and professional offices and strives to create high quality, community-based experiences that benefit students, partner sites, and communities. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Student Services Professional I. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under the direct supervision of a Director, Center for Internships and Community Engagement, the Student Services Professional I, provides assistance and support to students seeking academically-related internships and assists with a variety of assignments within the Center for Internships and Community Engagement. Assists with the implementation of programs, services, and support systems for students. Reviews proposed academic internship opportunities submitted to the campus' job and internship portal and approves them based on established policies and procedures. Communicates academic internship opportunities and provides appropriate information to students as necessary on a case-by-case basis. Collaborates with Center staff on identifying and facilitating service-learning opportunities, as appropriate. Carries out projects assigned by the supervisor. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or other job-related field. Specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working knowledge of the basic principles of individual and group behavior, as well as research and observation techniques for the purpose of recording, classifying, and interpreting factual information. Foundational knowledge of the techniques and methods of interviewing. Ability to gather and analyze data. Ability to reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations. Ability to participate in and contribute to group meetings, conferences, and interviews. Ability to clearly express ideas and make recommendations. Ability to write clear and concise reports. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an academic environment. General knowledge of CICE programs and policies. Understanding of academic internships, service learning opportunities, and their impact on students.
