Position Information
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director for Transfer Recruitment and Evaluation, the Transfer Outreach Program Coordinator performs a variety of duties to ensure quality delivery of services and successful event outcomes. This position is involved with planning, implementation, coordination and execution of overnight summer programs for prospective community college transfer students. The Transfer Outreach Program Coordinator models excellent customer service skills and creates a welcoming environment for UCR administrators, faulty, staff, students, and guests. In addition, the incumbent will organize and administer motivational and informational programs throughout Southern California aimed at increasing UCR enrollment of transfer students from community colleges. As an official representative of the University, is available to prospective and admitted students, their families, the campus community, and the general public to interpret, enforce, and explain University policies and regulations. This position represents Undergraduate Admissions and the University at workshops, counselor conferences, college fairs, Transfer Center visits, and a variety of on and off-campus yield events. This is a nine month career appointment from March 2020 through November 2020. The budgeted hourly range for this position is $21.70 - $32.28.


Minimum Requirements
Working knowledge of admissions requirements for campus/school/college.
Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations and other institutions.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Working knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs at UC.
Working knowledge of UC, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective applicants and the public.
Knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
Skills with effective decision-making and problem resolution skills, including skill to recognize and deal effectively and appropriately with real and potential problem areas, including skill to determine the issues/problems that need to be brought to the attention of higher level staff and/or management.
Ability to work professionally under pressure and under tight deadlines; ensuring excellent customer service support.
Working knowledge of organizational skills, including skill in effectively coordinating and organizing multiple details. Excellent organizational abilities appropriate to effective calendar management and student and/or volunteer scheduling.
Ability to work effectively, efficiently, and independently in a fast-paced environment that is subject to constantly changing priorities.
