Position Information
The Theater Production Manager assists in oversight and coordination of the day-to-day production and technical operations for the Department of Theater, Film, and Digital Production. This position is responsible for oversight of the scenery, costumes, properties, lights, sound, stage management, box office (oversight), front of house and publicity in support of multiple productions throughout the year. The Theater Production Manager establishes and maintains safe and consistent operations for all productions and works extensively to maintain a cohesive and effective work environment. This position reports directly to the Department Chair and will serve as a liaison for all scheduling matters related to departmental productions and production facilities, and supervise the work of the entire technical staff.


Minimum Requirements
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to communicate complex instructions and information to disparate constituencies.
Strong knowledge/skills in all aspects of financial and personnel administration.
Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
Knowledge of theatrical and film systems, including lighting, sound, rigging,AV/Video, cameras and editing equipment
Ability to interact with a diverse group of constituents including faculty, administrative staff, technical crews and students
Knowledge of theatre literature and tradition
Effective verbal and writing skills
Strong problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills.
VectorWorks,Autocad, Lightwright and Microsoft Office proficiency
Understanding of and dedication to the concept of educational theatre and film production and the working learning environment
Strong working knowledge of University and collective bargaining policies, practices, rules, regulations, etc., including safety rules and regulations.
Mastery level knowledge in multiple technical theater production areas such as lighting, sound, video, costumes, hair/make-up, properties, scenery, scenic treatment, etc.


Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience in the theatre, film and television industry
